Dmitri Loskov

Dmitri Loskov (Russian: Äìèòðèé Âÿ÷åñëàâîâè÷ Ëîñüêîâ) (born 12 February 1974 in Kurgan) is a Russian international footballer. He currently plays for Saturn Ramenskoye. He was previously the captain of FC Lokomotiv Moscow.

Dmitri Loskov started attending Torpedo football school in Kurgan in 1983. In 1990 he moved to Rostov-on-Don football school and signed for Rostselmash in 1991. He became a notable playmaker, and Lokomotiv have shown interest in him, signing a preliminary contract in early 1996. However, Loskov has decided to spend one more year with Rostov club.

In 1997 Loskov transferred to Lokomotiv. He achieved significant success with the club, including two Russian Cups, two Russian championships, and becoming the league top goalscorer twice. He has played over 200 league matches for Lokomotiv, scored well over 100 goals in the Russian Premier League and is the captain of the club since 2006. His high standard of performances has always attracted interest from leading European clubs like AS Monaco and Tottenham Hotspur. In Europe he got to the UEFA Cup Winner's Cup semi finals twice (1997-1998 and 1998-1999) and the UEFA Champions League second round (2003-04). He has always been very consistent and is Russia's best playmaker with Spartak Moscow's Egor Titov. This is because of his range of passing, free kicks, shooting ability and ability to lead a team. Despite being one of the Russian Premier League's most consistent players and contributing with many assists, goals and inspirational performances in Lokomotiv's successful Domestic and European performances, he has never showed his best for Russia. In 2007 because of a conflict with the team manager Anatoly Byshovets Loskov left Lokomotiv for Saturn Ramenskoye. He also holds the record for the most appearances and goals in the Russian Premier League for Lokomotiv.
