Segundo Castillo

Segundo Alejandro Castillo Nazareno (born May 15, 1982 in San Lorenzo, Esmeraldas, Ecuador) is an Ecuadorian footballer who plays as a midfielder for Red Star Belgrade in the Serbian Superliga.

International Career

He broke into the Ecuadorian national team in 2005 and made his debut against Venezuela and was included in their squad for the 2006 FIFA World Cup due to his remarkable willingness to attack even as a defensive midfielder.

On May 24, 2006 in a friendly game against Colombia, he scored a goal for his country in the second half. They later tied 1-1 in New York.[1] His impressive display against the Colombian team later earned him a starting lineup position for Ecuador in the World Cup, and he remains one of Ecuador's best players today.

Castillo scored only his second international goal in a 26 March 2008 3-1 friendly win against Haiti.
